Since in the beginning of the fall of man, in the Garden
of Eden, the devil was subtle to change the word of God. The devil made the
first human beings to reject the heavenly ordinance of the Almighty God and
made them to believe his worldly wisdom and knowledge. By doing this he separated
mankind from God and from the peaceful environment that was prepared for them.
This devil used one of the chosen Apostles to betray Jesus just for the sake
of money. In this generation also many people are rejecting the word of God
for the sake position, possession and money because of their indecisive thinking
and compromise.
One of the written documents that were written against the word
of God is the written document presented by the United Pentecostal Church of
South Africa on 20th of March 2004 at Bloemfontein general ministers conference.
For the sake of clarity and to bring out misleading and unscriptural teachings
found on this document, we will use the phrase "The Document" or "This
Document" to refer to the written document presented by the United Pentecostal
Church of South Africa.
" This document" approached many of its topics with
scriptural evidences but when it reached to the topic that was called "the
true humanity of Jesus Christ", suddenly "the Document" started
to contradict it's own teaching and lost it's scriptural and Apostolic truth.
1. "The Document", presented
by United Pentecostal Church of South Africa, agrees that the only Biblical
way to receive remission of sin is " only to get the Saviour's blood "(Doctrine-Workshop
page 10), the other part of "the Document" teaches that the blood
of Jesus is the same as every human (The humanity of Jesus Christ page 9). Keeping
in mind, the above statements, we would like to bring out some facts. Since
the only way to receive remission of sin is "only to get the saviour's
blood", if all human beings also have the same blood of the saviour, then
according to "the Document" every human could be his own saviour.
The doctrine that makes "the only saving blood of Jesus" to be the
same as human blood is not Biblical rather it can be calcified as pagan and
erroneous doctrine. How it is sad, to hear teachings that dishonours the precious
blood of Jesus Christ from the people who sung and believed that there is power,
healing and victory in the blood of Jesus. If there is power in human blood
then why we get tired, If there is healing in human blood then why we get sick,
If there is victory in human blood then why we fail to get victory by our selves?
The Bible does not teach that humanity can be saved by his own
corruptible blood: "18Forasmuch as ye know that
ye were not redeemed with corruptible
things…But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without
blemish and without spot:" 1Peter1: 18-19. According to this scripture
God want us to know that we cannot be redeemed with corruptible things. If Jesus
had corruptible human blood as "this Document'' teaches, then there is
no hope for mankind for redemption. However the testimony of the Bible is very
clear about the blood of Jesus:
• The blood of goats and calves cannot give eternal redemption;
which was made of the dust but we obtain eternal redemption only by His own
blood (Christ's blood) not by our human blood. Hebrew 9:12.
• Human blood cannot cleanse us from our sin but "…the blood
of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."1John1: 7
• If the blood of all mankind is the same blood as the saviour, then
why do we need the saviour? why billions of people live under the bondages
of the devil?, Why we need the blood of Christ to over come the devil? For
the Bible says " And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come
salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his
Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before
our God day and night. 11And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and
by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Rev.12: 10-11
• The type of blood we believe is very important because God does not
redeem us by our human blood but by His
own blood. Act 20:28.
• Since there is no dispensation (period of time) in the Bible that
human flesh and blood demanded as an acceptable
means of atonement for the sin of mankind, preaching and believing that God
was manifested in human flesh and blood that was
made of dust will be contrary with the teaching of the word of God and will
leave mankind without redeemer. The Bible Writers never
preached a God who was manifested in human flesh, which was made of dust.
They preached God who was manifested in the flesh, which the word became
flesh. If any one preaches anything that was not preached by the Apostles,
will be accursed instead of being saved. Gal.1: 8
• Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed
with corruptible things…But with the precious blood
of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:" 1Peter1:
18-19.
2. "The Document" misused
Hebrews 2: 14 to say that Jesus got the flesh and blood, which is obtained by
all human being. Let's see the scripture: "Forasmuch then as the
children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took
Part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the
power of death, that is, the devil;" Hebrews2: 14. This verse does not
talk about the kind of flesh and blood that all mankind got (Including sorcerers,
wizards, enchanters, necromancers, atheist and all unbelievers). According to
this verse the only person who took part the type
of flesh and blood that can destroy the devil, that had the power of death,
is Jesus but the children will be partakers of the same when the time comes.
Who are the partakers of this flesh and blood the same
as Jesus took part? (The flesh and blood, which can destroy the devil that
had the power of death). According to the Bible the answer is not all mankind
but only the children. This flesh and blood will
not be given for all mankind; it takes willingness to pass through the process
that will make us to be the children of God.
• This flesh and blood is not the one that every
human has (the flesh and blood that all mankind got from the first
man that was made of dust). According to the scripture the only person who
took part this flesh and blood is Jesus and the same flesh and blood is promised
for the children to be partakers of it.
3. "The Document" explains that Jesus is the Biological
seed and descendant of Adam and Eve, Abraham and David. (The true humanity of
Jesus Christ page 7). Here "the Document" shows it's unscriptural
teaching by making itself above the teachings of Jesus Christ. Jesus taught
in three different occasions that He couldn't be the Biological seed of David.
The Bible tells us that Joseph was the Biological descendant and seed of David
so that he was called the son of David. (Luke1: 26, Matt.1: 20). But as "the
Document" teaches, if Jesus was also the Biological seed of Adam and Eve,
Abraham and David, why then Jesus refused to be called the son of David? (Matt.12:
14-22, Matt.22: 42, Mark12: 35)." If all conceptions, mentioned in the
Bible, were biological then how would "this Document" explain the
conception of Laban's flock? Except to admit that God is Almighty. Genesis 30:
37- 43. God Himself introduced the miraculous conception of the saviour by sending
His angel. According to the massage of the angel "with God nothing shall
be impossible". Since God is almighty it was not impossible for Him to
cause a conception only of the Holy Ghost through His word. "But while
he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him
in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary
thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy
Ghost." Matt.1: 20. The Bible never said the conception of Jesus
was of Mary, Joseph or Mary and Holy Ghost but the Bible said: "which
is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost". What a blasphemy to make
the conception of the Holy Ghost to be biological.
4. According
to "the Document" Jesus could be born, grow, hungry, thirst, became
weary, sleep, be beaten, and die… only if He was human. This unscriptural
logic needs to be corrected. To pass through these physical feelings, needs
and reactions…, one does not need to be necessarily human because all
flesh (the flesh beast, fish, birds) pass through the same thing not because
they are human but they also bear flesh. The explanation of "this Document"
is an opening door to a greater blasphemy, because all flesh (the flesh beast,
fish, birds) have the above physical feelings, needs and reactions…, do
these things make Jesus to be the same as beast, fish or bird? Not at all. "All
flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind
of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of
birds". 1Cor15: 39. The reason for Jesus to pass through these things was
not because He bears human flesh and blood that was made of dust but because
He bears the flesh that was made of Word. One thing that needs to be understood
is both all mankind and Jesus have flesh; the difference is on the origin of
their flesh. The physical body of human was made from the dust of the earth
but the physical body of Jesus was the Word (which is from heaven) that was
made flesh. (Ps103: 14, Gen 2: 7, John1: 14, 1Cor15: 47, John 6:51, Act 20:28.).
The Bible explains this clearly on the Book of Hebrews as follows: "Who
in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers
and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save
him from death, and was heard in that he feared;"Heb.5: 7. Therefore the
reason for Jesus to pass through such physical feelings, needs and reactions…was
not because He had human flesh (made of dust) but it was because He also has
flesh (that was made of word), which was subjected to these Physical laws only
by his own will. John10: 18.
5. Even though there is no scriptural
evidence, "this Document" proudly made a statement saying that Jesus'
body was changed after resurrection. "The Document" misused 1Cor.15:
42-44, which speaks about the resurrection of the corrupted dead, to explain
about the resurrection of Jesus' body that was not corrupted. However, the Bible
clearly teaches that the body of Jesus Christ was the same before and after
His resurrection.
• The body, which was raised, was same body that was crucified. Mark16:
6,Matt 28:5&6.
• The Bible does not say that the body of Jesus was changed after death
but raised. Luke 24:3&6.
• Jesus promised to raise His dead body not another body. John 2:19.
• If the same dead body of Christ was not raised, Christianity does not
have any assurance for its belief. Acts17: 31
• God gave prophecy through Isaiah that He will raise His dead body. Isa.
26:19
• Jesus showed to His disciples and Thomas the same body, which was crucified.
John20: 27.
• Jesus showed three of His disciples the marvellous glory of His body
on the mount of transfiguration (even) before His death. Matt.17: 1-8
• The one in heaven is the same body, which was dead not another body.Rev.1:
18.
6. According to the explanation
of "this Document" the word "Mother" applies only if there
is a biological relationship. If this logic is true, we could say Mary was the
biological Mother of Apostle John because Jesus Himself identified Mary as the
mother of Apostle John. John18: 26&27. In synoptic books of the Bible (Matthew,
Mark, Luke) Jesus made a clear statement comparing Mary with His disciples and
He Preferred to call the disciples "my mother". Why Jesus made this
kind of statement, if the word "Mother" must be applied only for biological
relationship? This kind of unscriptural interpretation of "this Document"
might have come from the lack of Biblical Hermeneutics (Biblical science of
interpretation) and therefore it is strongly erroneous. "… And he
answered and said unto them, my mother and my brethren
are these which hear the word of God, and do it."
Luke 8:21. " 47Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren
stand without, desiring to speak with thee. 48But he answered and said unto
him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my
brethren? 49And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples,
and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 50For whosoever shall do
the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister,
and mother. Matt.12: 47-50, Mark 3: 33-35.
7. What does the
Bible say about the origin of the flesh and blood of Jesus Christ?
• Human flesh is made of dust. Ps103: 14 Gen 2: 7 but the flesh of Jesus
is the Word that was made flesh. John1: 14.
• The flesh of the first man is from the earth but the flesh of the
second Man is from heaven, here we can see that the difference is not small
but it is far as heaven and earth.1Cor15: 47. Not discerning the Lord's body
will cause damnation into our life.1Cor11: 29.
• Since the Word was made flesh, Jesus said His flesh is the bread of
life, which came down from heaven, but He never said that His flesh is from
the earth as the first man was. John 6:51.
• Eternal redemption cannot be obtained by the blood of goats and calves,
those are made of the dust, but only by His own blood (Christ's blood) not
by our human blood. Hebrew 9:12
• We reconciled by His flesh (the Word made flesh) not by our human
flesh.Col.1: 21&22.
• If we believe that Jesus is the first man who was made of dust then
we could say Jesus Christ came to bring condemnation unto all men. Because
the Bible tells that the first man brings condemnation unto all men but justification
of life to all men is only through the second Man. According to the Bible
we can't be justified for everlasting life, If we believe that Christ is the
first man who was made of dust since the first man brings condemnation.Rom.5:
18
• The hope of our eternal life is not by eating and drinking our human
flesh and blood that was made of dust. Jesus said, "Whoso eateth My flesh,
and drinketh My blood, has eternal life;" not our human flesh and blood
will give us eternal life. John6: 54.
• Human blood cannot cleanse us from our sin but" … the blood
of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."1John 1:7.
• Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things…But
with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without
spot:" 1Peter1: 18-19.
• The type of blood we believe is very important because God does not
redeem us by our human blood but by His own blood. Act 20:28.
• Even though human blood circulates in our entire body all the time,
yet it does not have the power to purge our conscience. Because of this fact,
we need the blood of Christ, which was offered through the eternal spirit
with out spot, to purge our conscience from our dead works so that we can
be able to serve the Living God. Hebrews 9:14.
In conclusion we earnestly pray and advice that any teaching
that undermines the blood of the saviour must not be taken lightly or compromised.
"PREACH THE WORD!!" Not man made logic.
